A model of Tuam

Tuam.ie is a 3D model of the town with a page behind every named place on it: 230 shops, services and public buildings on 21 streets. It is made for the two questions people actually ask about a town: what is here, and where is it.

Where the facts come from

Building footprints, streets, place names, phone numbers and opening hours are OpenStreetMap data, last read on 2026-09-18, under the Open Database Licence. The base map tiles are served by OpenFreeMap from the same data. Heights come from the map where it records them; where it does not, a building stands two storeys tall, which is what most of Tuam is.

Nothing is written from memory or opinion. When a fact is missing the page says so and links to the map record, so anyone can add it. A claimed building carries what its owner sends us, marked as theirs.

Who makes it

Onoir Studio, a small Irish company in Galway that builds reference sites from open data. Corrections, claims and questions to hello@tuam.ie.
