The story of Archbishop McHale College

Archbishop McHale College is the town's vocational secondary school, run by the Galway and Roscommon Education and Training Board rather than by a church, and open to pupils of any faith. It takes its name from John McHale, the nineteenth-century Archbishop of Tuam whose statue stands at the cathedral and who bought the land for St Jarlath's College.

It is one of three second-level schools in Tuam, with St Jarlath's and High Cross College, the school formed in 2023 when Presentation College and St Bridget's amalgamated.
